The James J. and Mary Edith Rhoades Foundation is an independent non-profit foundation that promotes education, giving, and community involvement to enrich our community as a whole. We will aim to fulfill our mission by providing and administering charitable funds to the ever-changing needs of our community.
The James J. and Mary Edith Rhoades Foundation encourages education and individual development of our youth. Education, participation in sports, recreation, arts, and community involvement provide the necessary values and tools for our area's youth to learn, grow and succeed.
The James J. and Mary Edith Rhoades Foundation encourages philanthropy, volunteerism, community improvement, and revitalization. Charitable giving embraces many different aspects, including arts and culture, education, environment, government and social service. We will raise and distribute funds to meet the ever-changing charitable needs and challenges of our community and its members.
The James J. and Mary Edith Rhoades Foundation brings together citizens and organizations to promote the importance of community involvement. We believe that each member of our community is connected, and the well being of our community as a whole is determined by the quality of these relationships. Whether it be an act of charitable giving, a monetary donation, sharing knowledge, volunteering your time, or simply helping out a neighbor such positive acts strengthen these relationships to enrich our community as a whole. We encourage every member of this community to take a moment to do a simple act that can make a major difference. We challenge every individual to embrace a selfless spirit, and to give without expecting any repayment or recognition in return. If a good deed was ever done on your behalf, do something good on another's. If you receive a gift, do something good for someone else in response.
The James J. and Mary Edith Rhoades Foundation encourages you to "pay it forward". You can pay it forward in such simple acts as holding the door for an elderly individual at the grocery store, or giving up your place in line to someone in a rush. Whether you can afford a monetary donation or a moment of your time, even the smallest, free gestures can make a difference.
